How We Work

What a project with us actually looks like

Portfolios are easy to admire and hard to learn anything from. Rather than adding more screenshots, here is the process behind the work above — the same sequence we follow whether the budget is PKR 200,000 or PKR 6 million, compressed or extended to fit.

1. Discovery, before anything is quoted properly

We start by finding out what the software is for, who uses it, and what has to be true on launch day. For anything ambiguous we run a short paid discovery phase — usually five to ten days — that produces wireframes, a technical approach and a fixed-price quote for the build. Clients sometimes resist paying for this. It is the cheapest money in the project, because discovery is the only stage where changing your mind costs a conversation instead of a sprint. The document is yours either way.

2. A role matrix before a single screen

The most reliable predictor of cost in business software is not the number of screens; it is the number of user roles. "It is just for our staff" nearly always turns into admin, branch manager, accountant, storekeeper, agent and a read-only owner view — each with its own permissions, screens, reports and test cases. We map that first, because it determines the database design, and schema mistakes are the expensive kind. Our requirements guide shows the exact format we use.

3. Something clickable by week three or four

You get a deployed, usable build early — incomplete and unpolished, but real — and a new one every one to two weeks after that. Percentages in a status report are opinions. A build you can open on your own phone is a fact, and it is the single practice that catches problems while they are still cheap to fix.

4. Testing alongside the build, not at the end

QA squeezed into the final week is not quality assurance; it is bug discovery with no time to fix anything. We test as features land, on real mid-range Android devices on a poor connection rather than on simulators, and we agree a bug severity scale up front so "critical" means the same thing to both sides.

5. Handover that leaves you independent

You hold the Git repository from the first commit — not at final payment. Domain, hosting, cloud, app store and payment gateway accounts are registered in your company's name, with credentials you keep. You get deployment instructions, an environment guide and a database schema you can hand to any competent developer. We have been called in to help clients who owned their code and still could not deploy it; the fix is to never create that situation in the first place.

6. After launch

Launch is a milestone, not an ending. Browser updates break forms, dependencies reach end of life, and Apple raises its minimum SDK requirement roughly every year. Every engagement includes a warranty period on delivered scope, and most continue as a small monthly retainer covering updates, monitoring, backups and minor improvements. Budget 15–20% of build cost per year for this — it is the line most quotes leave out.

The kinds of work above

The projects in this portfolio fall into four broad categories, and each one is priced and staffed differently. Marketing and corporate websites are design-led, with content and photography usually the critical path rather than engineering. Mobile applications carry hidden weight in the backend and admin panel — typically half the real work sits behind the app rather than in it. Custom business systems — ERP, CRM, LMS, booking and logistics platforms — are dominated by role complexity, reporting and data migration from years of inconsistently entered records. E-commerce divides sharply depending on whether your pricing logic fits a normal product catalogue; if it does, a hosted platform will usually serve you better than a custom build, and we will tell you so.

If you want the numbers behind any of that, we publish them: see what software development actually costs in Pakistan, or the full set of guides. If you would rather just describe your project and hear what we think, that conversation is free.
