How This Works

A moderated place to get a straight technical answer

Most technical questions from small businesses never get asked, because the places to ask them are either intimidating or full of people answering a different question. This section exists to fix that. You post a real problem — a deployment that fails, a payment gateway that rejects a callback, a query that has become slow, a decision between two libraries — and one of our engineers answers it publicly so the next person with the same problem finds the answer.

It is free, and you do not need to be a client. Questions are moderated before they appear, which means replies are slower than a large public forum and considerably more useful. We would rather answer forty questions properly than four hundred badly.

What gets answered quickly

The questions we can turn around fastest are the specific ones. In our experience the difference between a question answered in a day and a question that sits unanswered is almost entirely how it was written:

  • State what you expected and what happened instead. "The upload fails" describes a feeling; "files above 2MB return a 413 from Nginx while smaller files succeed" describes a problem someone can solve.
  • Include the exact error text, not a paraphrase, and not a screenshot of a terminal if you can paste the text instead.
  • Say what your environment is — language and framework versions, database, hosting type, operating system. Half of all "this worked locally" problems are environment differences.
  • List what you have already tried and what changed when you tried it. This prevents an answer you have already ruled out.
  • Reduce it to the smallest failing case. Often you will find the answer yourself while doing this, which is a good outcome too.
  • Never paste credentials, API keys, tokens or customer data. Replace them with placeholders. We remove them when we spot them, but a public question is public the moment it is published.

What we will not do here

Being clear about the boundaries keeps this useful for everyone. We do not complete assignments or exam work, we do not write whole features to order, we do not help with anything designed to bypass authentication or scrape a service against its terms, and we do not give legal, tax or regulatory advice. We also will not diagnose a system we cannot see — if the problem needs access to your codebase or infrastructure, that is paid work rather than a forum answer, and we will say so plainly rather than guessing.

Moderation and accuracy

Every question is reviewed before publication to strip credentials and personal data and to reject spam and self-promotion. Answers from our team represent our professional opinion at the time of writing; software changes, so check version-specific details against current documentation. Answers from other community members are their own and are not verified by us. If you find an answer here that is wrong or has become outdated, tell us and we will correct or annotate it — our approach to corrections is set out in our Editorial Policy.

If your question is bigger than a question

Some of what arrives here is not really a bug. It is "we do not know how to structure this project", or "we think we are being overcharged", or "our developer left and we cannot deploy". Those are worth a longer answer than a forum post, and we have written several of them up properly: what software actually costs in Pakistan, how to hire a development team without getting burned, and the nine reasons projects fail. If none of those covers it, talk to us directly — the first conversation costs nothing.

Ground rules

  • One problem per question
  • No credentials or customer data
  • Show the exact error
  • Name your versions
  • No spam or link-dropping
  • Be civil — everyone here was a beginner
